Captain Eric has taken us out twice on our Alaskan Adventures. Super nice and a new boat this year. Had a great time although we didn't catch anything this year. Last time was better for the fishing. We did see a lot of whales and other marine life though so the trip was great. Thanks.

Captain Eric and Alice were amazing! Alice told us as soon as she met us that this was going to be the highlight of our trip. She was right!! They were such gracious and friendly hosts on their boat. My wife and I had the privilege of going out with Eric and Alice for 3 straight days whale/nature watching. The activities themselves were terrific -- a wide variety of humpback behaviors and play; sea otters/lions; a bear (!); and my first (lucky) experience with orca. Knowledge of and full respect for the animals was first rate. What made the trips even more interesting was simply learning a bit about these truly terrific-yet-humble people who were raised in Hoonah (Alice) and have contributed so much to the town as educators, mentors, and parents. They patiently and openly explained the ins/outs of everything we asked them. This was an extraordinary, completely unexpected bonus to an already fantastic experience.

We had a terrific time with Capt Eric and Alice. My family booked a 4 hr trip with Ear Mountain Charters as part of our Alaskan cruise. The fishing charter was a highlight of our trip. Myself, three adult kids, and two grandkids ages 13 & 11 all had a great time and caught a lot of fish. Capt Eric knew where the fish were biting and made sure we enjoyed the trip. Eric and Alice are both teachers and were absolutely wonderful with the grandkids. In addition to all of us bringing in some large halibut, the Capt brought us to a pod of whales that were incredible to watch. Both Capt Eric and Alice went out of their way to make sure everyone was satisfied with the trip and provided good balance between fishing and sightseeing. The boat and gear provided were clean and well maintained. I recommend this charter without reservation and hope to have the opportunity to enjoy time with Eric and Alice in the future.

We had an excellent time on Captain Eric's boat, catching lots of halibut as well as feeding our herring to plenty more. Eric knows his stuff and really wants his guests to catch fish. We caught our fish and had an amazing time.

My 11 year old loves fishing and so I wanted her to have a chance to fish during our Alaska cruise. I booked a 1/2 day tour for her, my husband and 2 nephews. They all rated it as the highlight of their Alaska cruise experience. And Eric was super responsive to questions. So glad we did this!

Short day, great experience. Like most, we had a cruise stop here. We try to stay away from the canned excursions. I started looking and found Eric's EMC. I called, we booked a 4 hour halibut fishing charter. Eric took care of everything. Picked us up at the excursion hub and off to his boat. Four hours later we had caught fish, spotted wildlife and gained a wealth of knowledge.

We didn't get to go on our fishing trip because our cruise cancelled this port due to mechanical issues. We got our refund without any hassle. Super happy with their customer service.

We planned this excursion on our own while cruising Alaska and it was great! We had so much fun with Alice and Eric. They couldn't have been nicer. We even saw bears on the shoreline! They provided just the right amount of assistance and we caught (and released) lots of fish. It was a great time and I would highly recommend. I had been worried about seasickness but it was not issue and the boat they use is great - almost brand new.

We booked a half day halibut excursion after our previous booking called and cancelled on our group of 3. I was able to get on Captain Eric's boat. While the fishing was slow, we caught one halibut and one type of rock fish, we saw soo many humpback whales, stellar sea lions, herring fluttering on the water, the tour was worth every penny even with the lack of fish reeled in. You cannot guarantee to catch fish. Definitely recommend.
